College of Education Dean Receives Excellence in Governance Award March 22

In recognition of her outstanding public service and for her efforts to prepare Missouri educators, Ann McCoy, Ph.D., dean of the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ College of Education, will receive the highest honor presented by students. The ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Student Government Association will recognize her publicly as the 2022 recipient of the James C. Kirkpatrick Excellence in Governance Award at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in the read and relaxation area, near the west entrance of the Kirkpatrick Library. The public is invited to attend this award presentation, which will be hosted by members of the SGA.

$1M Alumnus Gift to Benefit ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½'s College of Education

The ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Alumni Foundation is pleased to announce that alumnus Greg Thurman, ’74, and his wife, Carla Thurman, of Franklin, Tennessee, have made a generous gift to the university. The gift of $1 million will fund the renovation of a gymnasium in the 53-year-old Lovinger Building into a state-of-the-art mixed-use educational facility.

ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½'s Future Teacher Academy Attracts Approximately 450 Students to Explore Possible Careers as Educators

Where will tomorrow’s K-12 teachers come from? For many Missouri school districts, it’s possible these individuals will come from their own classrooms. At least this is one of the hopes of educators who planned and organized the Future Teacher Academy (FTA) at the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½, an event that brought approximately 450 middle school and high school students and 50 faculty sponsors to ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½.
