WARRENSBURG, MO –  The ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ OVATION Performance Series closes its 2023 season with the Charged Particles Jazz Ensemble at
7 p.m. Friday, April 21  in ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½â€™s Hart Recital Hall, located in the Utt Music Building. The public is invited to this free performance, and no tickets are required.

Charged Particles is a jazz trio hailing from the San Francisco Bay area. Members include Jon Krosnick (drums), Aaron Germain (bass), and Greg Sankovich (piano). They will be joined by saxophonist Tod Dickow in a program that highlights the music of jazz saxophonist/composer Michael Brecker.

Charged Particles made its public debut on National Public Radio Affiliate WDET's live performance program, "Detroit Jazz Alive," originating in Detroit, Michigan.  The group's one-hour live performance drew wide attention and the band immediately embarked on a concert schedule that included festivals and major venues all over the world. In addition to its own headline performances, the band has opened for national recording artists such as Al DiMeola, Stanley Jordan, and Yanni.  Recent highlights have included performances on the main stage of Yoshi's San Francisco jazz club accompanying French Vietnamese guitarist Nguyen Le, an appearance with vocalist Kevyn Lettau singing her compositions at Cafe Cordiale in Los Angeles, and performances in the Los Angeles area with keyboardist David Garfield.

This program is made possible by the support of the Missouri Arts Council and the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. For more information, see the webpage  or contact Series Director Dr. Mia Kim mkim@ucmo.edu at 660-543-8900.
